We really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is in a superb location looking out on Tavistock Square, with Euston station about five minutes walk, and King’s Cross - St Pancras about fifteen minutes. Plenty Underground lines within easy reach, and a lot of cultural attractions like the British Museum and British Library too. It felt like a relatively safe place to walk back to at night. The lobby is a beautiful Art Deco space, and the rooms have similar Art Deco-ish details. Our room looked out into a courtyard and roofs below. There was an extractor fan below which ran all night, but personally I’d rather have that sort of constant “white noise” than the intermittent noise of vehicles/ sirens/ voices in the street. The room was small but had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was powerful and hot. There was also a bath, which was an unexpected bonus! The room was very warm, even with the heating off and window open, but a desk fan had been provided. All staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good, with hot items kept fresh and nicely presented. There was a good selection of continental items including meat, cheese, fruit and mini pastries. Hot drinks were self service from a machine. Breakfast is served until 10am, which is useful for slow-paced holidaymakers!

Perfect location, Bloomsbury is one of my favourite neighbourhoods in London. Hotel is maybe a bit outdated but I liked its charm and it’s very clean and affordable. I was worried that room on the first floor overlooking the city park will be loud but with windows shut it was quiet to sleep. I’m a light sleeper and there were no problems for me. With open windows there’s noise from the street but that’s central London. There is no air con so in summer time I suppose it would be hard to sleep with windows closed. Bathroom and water pressure was fine and beds were very comfortable. Only things that were missing was: small fridge and hooks on the walls. There is a small built in wardrobe to put your clothes, but hooks would be even more convenient. I’m definitely planning to come back, combo of location, price and cleanliness is perfect for a short stay.

We like that the hotel building is old/heritage building, with art deco design. The location is superb, nearby restaurants/minimarket and easy to reach with public transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful (helping us with our delayed baggage). Breakfast was great, my family especially my son enjoyed the meals very much. It was also convenient to have a good bar at the hotel, The Woolf and Whistle (in the cold weather at night we'd rather stay and dine in the hotel), with good food, and relative late closing hour. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy. Overall a pleasant stay

We arrived by Eurostar at St. Pancras International station, which is within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is nicely situated opposite a little park. Breakfast was very good, so much choice, complete English breakfast, little (chocolate) croissants, buns, fresh fruits, different kinds of yogurts and cereals, toasted bread, all kinds of coffees and of course tea. Me and my 18-year-old son stayed for 4 days, the metro stations are near the hotel (an 8-minute walk), bus stations are closer by, and we actually saw almost everything we wanted to see in London.

Although clearly quite an old and slightly dated building (it doesn’t look particularly smart from the outside), the bedroom and bathroom were both very clean and quite spacious. We were upgraded to a king size bed which really was huge and very comfortable. There was a kettle with plenty of tea & coffee plus a small table with two chairs. Brilliant shower. Very powerful. Would definitely use again if travelling by Eurostar - a 15 minute walk away. Staff were all extremely obliging and friendly.
