Garden view in Tavistock Hotel

Breakfast was very nice, lots of variety. Staff were so friendly helpful and hospitable, very much enjoyed my stay, despite the heatwave which everyone was suffering from. The provided fan helped.

The location is great! Few blocks from Russel Square underground and from Euston station. Plenty of buses line around too. Staff is nice. Room and bathroom clean and comfortable. I recommend this hotel!

Buffet breakfast in Tavistock Hotel

The hotel is located in a nice and quiet area with several tube stations within walking distance. The room was a bit small but still very comfortable. Great staff both in the reception, in the bar and in the breakfast restaurant. Excelent breakfast with plenty of items to choose from. Highly recommended.

Restaurant/places to eat in Tavistock Hotel

The beds were very comfortable. The room was very well sound proof and only heard noise when the windows were open. The staff were very nice and cleaned our room perfectly every day. The breakfast was amazing! They had a huge buffet with so many options.

Restaurant/places to eat in Tavistock Hotel

We arrived by Eurostar at St. Pancras International station, which is within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel is nicely situated opposite a little park. Breakfast was very good, so much choice, complete English breakfast, little (chocolate) croissants, buns, fresh fruits, different kinds of yogurts and cereals, toasted bread, all kinds of coffees and of course tea. Me and my 18-year-old son stayed for 4 days, the metro stations are near the hotel (an 8-minute walk), bus stations are closer by, and we actually saw almost everything we wanted to see in London.

Restaurant/places to eat in Tavistock Hotel

Tavistock Hotel was my home in London for 8 days, and I truly loved it. The area is fantastic, I felt safe walking around, even at night. It’s very close to Euston and St Pancras stations, which made getting around super easy. Check-in was smooth, and I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a room with a lovely street view, which really improved my experience. The room itself was simple but had everything I needed. It was comfortable, always clean, and quiet, just close the window and you won’t hear any street noise. Breakfast was varied, and the staff at the reception and in the dining area were always kind and polite. Everyone at the hotel was genuinely friendly and helpful, which made me feel even more at ease as a solo traveler. The location is also great for walking — Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street are nearby, and there are plenty of parks and public transport options around. It’s a student-friendly area, so I felt comfortable and welcome as a young traveler. If you’re traveling solo, especially for the first time in London, I definitely recommend this hotel. It made my trip feel easy, safe, and enjoyable.

Breakfast in Tavistock Hotel

It's a big hotel with friendly staff, good amenities and great breakfast options. I appreciated the fact that my room was ready before check-in time. However, I stayed there in a heatwave and the lack of air-con was a problem because the windows don't open much. It was quite hot there, even at night. There was a ventilator provided, but I switched it off before falling asleep. The view from my window was not nice (the roof of the restaurant) and I was on the sixth floor. I ordered a king-size bed but was offered a room with two beds which were zipped together upon request.

Lobby or reception in Tavistock Hotel

Although clearly quite an old and slightly dated building (it doesn’t look particularly smart from the outside), the bedroom and bathroom were both very clean and quite spacious. We were upgraded to a king size bed which really was huge and very comfortable. There was a kettle with plenty of tea & coffee plus a small table with two chairs. Brilliant shower. Very powerful. Would definitely use again if travelling by Eurostar - a 15 minute walk away. Staff were all extremely obliging and friendly.
